For us, it signifies the strength of Lake Michigan's effect on the temperature of the area. During winter, the lake keeps us warmer and, during summer, we are cooler.
But here's the conversation that took place with Megan at our printer, Alphagraphics, while opening up the new account for the new firm:
Tom: May I see how you are spelling that? Megan: Tom, I grew up in Cleveland. I know how to spell "lake effect." Tom: What's it signify to you? Megan: Snow. Lots of snow. Tom: What about summer? Megan: Gray, rainy.
A day later, the November temperature was unusually warm. Tom: It's nice and warm outside. Must be that lake effect. Megan: Everyone will get sick.
So, are you a Megan about this or a Tom? Here's a chance to talk about the weather. Post your comment.
